School of Nursing Katsina is among the oldest nursing schools in Nigeria. It is one of the nursing schools equipped by the colonial administration, the school excelled in providing training for both Nurses and Midwives to provide healthcare in the Northern region.

School of Nursing Katsina comprises two campuses;- The Kasimu Kofar Bai CONSKAT satellite Campus in Katsina and the Nana Babajo CONSKAT Satellite campus in Malumfashi.

The Kasimu Kofar Bai CONSKAT Satellite campus in Katsina was established in the year 1956 through the help of the Northern Regional Assembly as training.

The School of Nursing Katsina State since its inception has continued to offer Nursing and Midwifery programs (Basic and Post and Post basic).

Admission Requirements into the School of Nursing Katsina

ND Nursing ( 2 years Program)

• Age limit: You must be 18 years above before you can be given admission to study at the institution 
• Academic Grade: The minimum entry requirement for admission to the ND program is five (5) credit passes in WAEC, SSCE, NECO, GCE, or its equivalent in not more than two sittings in the following subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology 
• JAMB Score: You must meet the school’s cut-off mark in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Exam (JAMB) before you can be given a provisional admission 
• Write Entrance Exam: You must write and pass the entrance exam 

HND Nursing (2 years Program)

You must fulfill the following requirements before you can be considered for admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing Program 

• Obtain an ND Certificate: You must Obtain a National Diploma Certificate in General  Nursing 
• CGPA: You must have graduated with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 at the National Diploma level.
• Pass Screening Exercise: You are to pass the screening exercise that will be conducted by the institution. 

Basic Nursing ( 3 years Program)

• Age Limit: You must be 18 years above before you can be admitted to this nursing program 
• Academic Grade: you must obtain a minimum of five (5) credits in WASC, SSCE, NECO, NAFDEC, or GCE in not more than two sittings in the following subjects:- Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

Basic Midwifery ( 3 years Program)

• Age Limit: You must be 18 years above before you can be admitted to this nursing program 
• Academic Grade: you must obtain a minimum of five (5) credits in WASC, SSCE, NECO, NAFDEC, or GCE in not more than two sittings in the following subjects:- Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

Community Nursing/ Midwifery (2 years Program)

• Age Limit: You must be 18 years above before you can be admitted to this nursing program 
• Academic Grade: you must obtain a minimum of four (4) credits in English Language, Biology, and any two ofMathematics, Chemistry, or Physics in WAEC, NECO, at not more than two sittings but only one sitting in NABTEB.
