Nursing Programs Offered at Maurid College of Nursing Sciences

Maurid College of Nursing Science offers a National Diploma (ND), and Higher National Diploma (HND).

The ND/HND Nursing program is a five-year uninterrupted program i.e. two years for ND two years for HND and one year of internship.  

Students who are enrolled in the nursing school start with the ND Nursing Program which is a non-terminal program.  For you to graduate from the HND program, you need a minimum CGPA of 2.5 ( Lower credit).

During your ND program at Maurid College of Nursing Sciences, you will be indexed at the beginning of your first semester ND II and you will be meant to undergo a supervised clinical work experience (SCWE). The Supervised Clinical Work experience will be in two parts of eight weeks each.

The first part will be between the end of ND I while the second part will be between the end of ND II.

Upon your graduation from the HND Nursing program, you will be required to sit for the Council’s professional exam in either of the two options of specialization which are Midwifery for Registration and Licensing as Registered Midwifery (RM).

After your graduation from the HND program, you will proceed to one year of mandatory Supervised Clinical Experience in an approved Healthcare facility or institution.
